two ships

two ships passed by the one i ride

and drew close by along the side

one seeking help to move along

the other singing a sweeter song

for both have dwelt in ocean’s swell

that fills the heart when all is well

yet neither knows the way to shore

but turn this way when need implores

in search of memories comfort here

precious jewels once held so dear

then put aside along the way

in harsher light of breaking day

if somehow we could only find

the truth to see when love is blind
