near and far

raptor flies through deepest night

unto the land of NeverLight,

there alighting on a branch

to gaze as in a dream entranced,

by she who faerie-like does dance

within the shadows far below,

where pale limbs move to and fro

to music only she will know,

midst mossy trunks of elder days

when peace and wisdom ruled the way.

wrapped, entrapped inside her spell,

pain overthrown, the raptor fell,

to land enraptured at her feet,

no, nevermore to yearn or treat,

for sweet surrender in the dark

at journey’s end has left its’ mark.
